The Palio and the Contrada’s

This famous horse race, in which the passion of the Sienese people explodes, takes place twice a year (on the 2nd July and the 16th August), and ten of the seventeen districts in which the old town is divided in face one another in the heartbeat of the center: Campo Square.
In order to deepen the knowledge of this event, still felt and lived with authentic passion by the Sienese people, you’ll be able to visit oneof thedistricts’ museum, admiring the painted drapes and ancient costumes.
